1Q1 – Is it Worth The Hype

The modern-day dining experience with a British-era interiors, 1Q1, a kitchen and bar, which is situated at Queens Road. Due to its aesthetic plating, elegant arches and patterns, this place has become very popular among Bangaloreans.

This restaurant serves Oriental cuisine — Asian, Japanese, Malaysian, Vietnamese, Korean and Chinese. When our server for the day came to take our order, we were so confused as there were so many options to choose from. Hence, we decided to go with the chef’s recommendations and leave him to decide for us.

OUR ORDER

From the APPETIZERS, i.e., small plates, he told us that the most ordered ones are:

Umami Prawns

As the title suggests, it is a small plate and hence the less quantity. But it was only less in quantity, and more in everything else — super tasty, fresh and juicy.

General Tso’ Chicken

General Tso Chicken

Oh man! This was the best dish of the night! Just thinking of it makes my mouth water even now. It’s one dish that I’ll give the chef full credits for suggesting. So succulent, perfectly made according to the description in the menu.

For the MAIN COURSE, The chef strongly recommended the Green Thai curry with Jasmine Rice.

It was a great dish for someone who likes Thai food, but frankly, it was nothing special or different from the other restaurants. We couldn’t finish it as this dish wasn’t alluring and we were trying to save some space for the dessert.

Finally, the moment came when we ordered DESSERTS, something we’ve been waiting for all the way through. Also, the fact that 1Q1 desserts are most talked about, we were already drooling.

Japanese Cheesecake

The cheesecake here is a signature dessert. It is served with raspberry sorbet. The texture of the cheesecake was very spongy and soft. Also, I couldn’t stop saying wow once I took a bite of the sorbet.

Matcha and raspberry ice cream meringue cake

This was another signature dessert by 1Q1, but we were honestly disappointed with it so we decided to inform the chef about it. We told him it wasn’t how we thought it would be upon reading the description — meringue cake. He offered us a complimentary dessert to not let our moods down.

Chocolate Fondant Cake

choclate

A simple yet delicious dessert, who doesn’t love an oozy lava cake? They served it with an in house vanilla ice cream that really got us loving this plate.

Along with this meal, we ordered two of their classical DRINKS:

drinks

Aces wild and Island Breeze

Aces Wild — Cinnamon and apple infused with Jameson built up with brown sugar, mint and lime wedges.

Island Breeze — Homemade pineapple shrub built up with dark rum and coconut water.

What exotic cocktails they are, aren’t they? Both of them tasted great, especially loved the smoky Cinnamon flavor. Never tried this combination of cocktails before.

AMBIENCE ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The interiors add on to the great vibes this place intended to create.
SERVICE ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ They were quick and prompt.
STAFF ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Courteous and friendly. They’re the kind of staff you can spark a conversation with.
PARKING ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Valet, great entrance, feels like a drive through, avoids traffic but the hoarding/ letterings of 1Q1 should be more visible to guide us there.

#OOTD

This outfit for me was a surprise, I decided to shop at Forever21 for my fancy, yet a casual date.

food

Top and Skirt — Off the shoulder gingham and bodycon lace skirt — Forever21.

Footwear — Nude heels, Soles.

With this outfit, I carried a small clutch, and nothing more.

I wore my favorite statement earrings from Snob-box because it went perfectly with this outfit. I didn’t accessorize my neck and kept it bare as I wanted to show slight skin and let my collar bones do the talking.
