Khi Khi isn’t just any Indian restaurant that is settled in the heart of Delhi’s Vasant Vihar market. It is a burst of colour, creativity, and deliciousness, giving you an experience that means more than just having a meal or a drink. From the moment you walk into Khi Khi, the ambience whisks you away from monotony.

Khi Khi Ambience: Pop Art With An Indian Touch

The first thing that you see as you walk in is the vibrant décor. There are pop-art murals splashed across the walls, quirky lighting, and contemporary seating arrangements—this is a feast to the eyes even before you get your hands on the menu. The overall vibe is quite trendy yet warm and inviting, making it the perfect place for a night out with friends or a special date night.

The Menu:

Khi Khi’s menu was something that I haven’t come across in any other dining places. The menu was named ‘KhiKhizine’. There was a note from the editor that said the Khi Khi literally meant giggles in Hindi. The note mentioned how proud they were about their core values and authenticity in serving their customers. The note also had a tagline saying that ‘Happy hours redefined’, well, weren’t they true about that too! And also, according to them, it is mind-blowing to see how quirky the whole menu is. It had the most quirky F&B names for everything. So without further ado, let’s go over the items on my list that Tarun Sibal’s menu has to offer!

Drinks To Slurp:

HHH Sour (Homemade, Handmade and Handcrafted): The name itself made me choose the drink; it was absolutely intriguing! The drink includes gin, Limoncello liquer (homemade), honey and vegan foam! The rink was given an aesthetic with lemon candy on the rim. The drink was served in a really decorated coupe.

BIG Batch Frozen Martini: The drink comes in a transparent coupe with a mix of Bombay Sapphire gin, Sauvignon Blanc wine, some infused bitters, Lychee shrub and a generous amount of Martini fiero. Yumm!

Chakotra: In Hindi, chakotra is the name of grapefruit, and this drink was citrusy and absolutely a pleasure in every drop. A drink with mezcal, grapefruit, fresh lime juice and sugarcane juice.

Roasted Beets Salad: A colourful and mighty salad with the main ingredient being Beetroot. The salad was dressed in an elegant manner and presented with many textures and flavours. To know more about this one, all you need to do is scoop out a spoonful and have your mouth full!

Mushroom Chettinaad (Open Bao): Chettinad cuisine originally comes from the Chettinad region of Tamil Nadu, India. It is well-known for its food’s bold and spicy flavour combinations, which are the result of a special spice blend. That’s what they did in this dish too and what was the star of the dish? Mushrooms marinated with all the spices and served in an open bao (That was a brilliant twist!)

Kaladi Cheese Olive Bread: Kaladi is a ripened cheese bread made from cow or buffalo milk. The flat bread is a French addition to the recipe.

Chicken Churrasco: The grilled chicken can never be wrong! Every piece was a perfect bite, with a blast of flavour from the marinade and grilling. Giving the Indian chicken tandoori a South American twist!

Pathar Gosht: This is a must if you are at Khi Khi! It is a popular mutton fry dish and it is significantly cooked on a hot stone. The marinated meat was fragrant and it just slipped from my tongue into my throat. It was definitely a flavour powerhouse. This dish is worth exploring!
