Martell Cognac: Another Wonder At The BBB Awards

Martell Cognac: Another Wonder At The BBB Awards

The BBB Awards in Bengaluru was a great one for people in the business of breweries and bars. When I went to the event, I was astounded by the way that Brews and Spirit organised and hosted it. It was a great deal to see the best of the best in the business, and the award was presented by me.

And during this event, I had observed one more thing: the display of the bottles; the entire look of the place was nothing usual. There was another alcohol brand that amazed my mind—Martell.

About Martell:

Martell is known to be one of the big houses of Cognac, namely Hennessy, Rémy Martin, and Courvoisier. It is almost a 300-year-old Cognac brand that has been building out people’s taste in brandy.

History of Martell:

Martell’s history goes back to 1715, when Jean Martell founded the brand He had the idea of giving the purest brandy to the world.

How Is It Made?

Martell is made with the grapes called Ugni Blanc from the regions of France known as Charente and Charente-Maritime. The grapes were pressed and turned to wine. Once the winery is done, 90% of wine is added to the 10% of other grapes variety. The fermented, racked, and pressed grapes are kept for three weeks to remove any dead yeast in them. martell is distilled in huge stills and the ones that are used are premium ones. Martell prefers to distil bright wine—brighter it is, purer the spirit.

Taste Of Martell:

Martell is the smoothest cognac amongst all and the taste of it is different for every variety of it.

Enjoying the Martell:

Having a sip of Martell is bliss and you can enjoy that in a Balloon or tulip glass. It has a gentle tinge of spices like nutmeg and cinnamon; the aroma that comes from it bares raisins, black pepper, spicy oaks, bread and butter pudding and sultanas..

Bottle of Martell:

Martell is bottled according to the type of Cognac that is made, and there are a few varieties of it. Very Special Old Pale (VSOP), very Special Martell, and Extra Old (XO).

Tasting the Martell is something taht everyone should try once. And the experience with Martell cognac is something that you can not forget. Martell remains on my list of favorites.
