Abhishek Chaubey’s recent release, “Killer Soup,” on the OTT platform, has garnered a positive response from viewers. Featuring Manoj Bajpayee and Konkona Sensharma in pivotal roles, the director shared a unique aspect of the project. In an interview with Zoom, Abhishek revealed that he envisioned both Manoj Bajpayee and Konkona Sensharma in their roles while still in the script-writing phase—a rare occurrence for him. Approaching them early in the process, they readily agreed, allowing for a collaborative effort in shaping their characters. The concept of “Killer Soup” originated from co-writers Unaiza Merchant, Anant Tripathi, and Harshad Nalawade, drawing inspiration from a 2018 headline. The story’s unique tone and dark humor appealed to Abhishek, leading to two years of script development. Despite the potential risk of overdoing it, the collaborative team focused on successful execution, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the story’s mood during editing.
