The captivating tableau, adorned with lavender flowers, unfolds the story of the CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine in Jammu. It depicted the development of an exclusive lavender variety, its cultivation, and the subsequent processing for the production of essential oils, perfumes, and incense sticks.

On Friday, January 26th, the Republic Day procession took place at Kartavya Path in New Delhi. Among the many different tableaus presented in the procession, one that stood out was the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research’s (CSIR) purple revolution efforts. This interesting initiative is currently happening in the lavender fields of Bhaderwah, Jammu & Kashmir.

The beautiful tableau, decorated with lavender flowers, tells the tale of the CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine in Jammu. It portrayed the evolution of a unique lavender variety, its cultivation, and its subsequent preparation for essential oils, fragrances, and incense sticks. The purple revolution demonstrates India’s scientific prowess and the entrepreneurial drive of farmers in Bhaderwah and surrounding areas, who have transformed into successful entrepreneurs in recent years.

The CSIR Tableau depicts the Purple Revolution. Union Minister of Science and Technology, Jitendra Singh, regularly cites the purple revolution as an example of taking lavender innovation from lab to market. This project is critical in creating a new culture of agricultural startups in India, promoting growth and innovation in the field.

On January 20th, Jitendra Singh wrote on his X Twitter, “Purple Revolution in Bhaderwah, Jammu & Kashmir inspiring Agri StartUps across the country.” The Himalayan states have enormous start-up potential that has yet to be realised. Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Northeastern regions are duplicating J&K’s lavender success story. With Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s focus on these areas, start-ups from here can play a critical part in realising the objective of Viksit Bharat by 2047.” The minister made the remarks while addressing at the UDAY Startup Summit in Jammu.

In Conclusion, Republic Day is an unpleasant reminder of the principles that shape a nation, as well as its people’s shared objectives. As we remember the basic values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity, let’s also consider the progress made and the difficulties ahead. May the spirit of cooperation and patriotism continue to guide us towards a harmonious and prosperous future in which the principles stated in the Constitution are a lived reality for all citizens. As we remember this historic day, may it motivate us to actively contribute to the growth and well-being of our diverse and vibrant country.
