Glynis Johns, a Tony Award-winning stage and screen star known for her roles in ‘Mary Poppins’ and her performance of ‘Send in the Clowns’ by Stephen Sondheim, has died at the age of 100. She was a perfectionist and known for her multi-faceted roles. Her greatest triumph was playing Desiree Armfeldt in ‘A Little Night Music,’ for which she won a Tony. ‘Send in the Clowns’ was written to suit her voice, but she lost the part in the film version.
