In the aid of the Elephant Family, the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall hosted the Animal Ball 2019 at Clarence House. Inspired by Truman Capote’s Black and White Dance of 1966, this year saw 26 of the world’s greatest fashion houses – Prada, Missoni, Chloe, Temperley including Indian Designers Sabyasachi, Anita Dongre, and Gaurav Gupta each wearing animal-themed masks.
The Animal Ball 2019 was an initiative by the Elephants Family whose vision is to protect Asian elephants in their natural habitat. The masks designed by Sabyasachi for Prince Charles and Camilla were inspired by the designer’s favourite animal The Royal Bengal Tiger.
The Majestic Elephant designs by Anita Dongre were in respect to her house emblem. Gaurav Gupta created an extravagant Hummingbird as a symbol of infinite hope and jubilation modelled in his indigenous sculpting techniques.
