Looking for a unique experience this season? How about a three-day trip to a beach? “Hmm, but where though?” is definitely a challenge to anyone. Varkala, an exquisite coastal town situated at the shorelines of Arabian Sea in Kerala is a wholesome experience. Some might call it a “Mini Goa” because of the alluring beaches. You can choose to stay in extravagant resorts with private beaches or budget friendly hostels around the cliff (backpackers take a note of it).  Here are the top 5 must do’s in Varkala.

  • Varkala Beach:

Tucked away just 10 kilometres from the town of Varkala in Kerala, Varkala Beach, is a beautiful stretch of sand which carries a delightful vibe, distinct from the commercialized beaches. The clear blue waters, golden sands and the salty breeze will be etched in your mind for a while. Give surfing a shot if you’re a fan of water sports!

  • The Varkala cliff:

Just right above the magnificent Varkala beach, is the Varkala cliff with amazing cafés and boutiques. You can try out their local seafood cuisines, continental dishes or even grab fresh mocktails overlooking the beach (Café Del Mar is a must try). Make sure you visit the cliff during nights as they light up the whole town. You can also get cute souvenirs (my personal pick is a singing bowl for spreading calmness) back home from the local boutiques.
