Nayanthara’s film ‘Annapoorani’ faced backlash for allegedly hurting religious sentiments. Complaints were filed by Hindu IT Cell founder Ramesh Solanki and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP). The film was taken down from an OTT platform. VHP objected to scenes involving the portrayal of Bhagwan Ram, consumption of non-vegetarian food, and promoting love jihad.
