During the COVID-19 lockdown, Sanjay Dutt and his wife Maanayata Dutt were separated, with Maanayata and their children, Iqra and Shahraan, stranded in Dubai while Sanjay was in Mumbai. Sanjay shared a throwback family portrait on social media, expressing how much he missed his family and urging others to cherish their loved ones. Maanayata, speaking to Etimes, described the difficulties of being apart from Sanjay and managing the family during the lockdown. She mentioned that books were a helpful distraction, and the kids often video-called Sanjay for comfort. Despite the distance, Sanjay and Shahraan kept themselves entertained with their usual activities. Rumors suggest that Sanjay and Maanayata met through film producer Nitin Manmohan, and she used to cook for him on film sets. Their relationship blossomed, leading to their marriage in Goa in 2008.
