World Milk Day, celebrated on 1st of June to recognize the importance of Milk as a global food. It was started by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations since 2001. India is one of the largest producers of milk in the world. The sustainability in the dairy sector messages on nutrition. By 1975, all imports of milk and milk products were stopped as India became self-sufficient in milk production. Dr. Varghese Kurien, also known as the ‘Father of the White Revolution’ in India, is remembered today on World Milk Day. There are many brands who produce the best quality milk across the city.
