But ultimately, “Stranger Things” is an adventure show. It starts with the abduction of Will Byers, a boy which leads to other supernatural occurrences related to a top-secret laboratory and a girl with telekinetic powers known as Eleven. Not only does the show combine science fiction with horror and mystery, but it does this exceptionally well, and I could barely breathe during the episodes. The main aspects of the show’s themes are friendship, courage and villains, which is why the program is comprehensible and interesting to children.
The Stellar Cast
The cast is one of the strong suits of Stranger Things.Not only has the performance of Millie Bobby Brown been rich and compelling as she depicted Eleven as a person who is both sensitive and strong. Mike Wheeler is portrayed by Finn Wolfhard and he contributes passion and a believable determination towards the quest of the group. The others are outstanding ones such as Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers, who searching for her missing son gives the series some emotional appeal, and David Harbour as Chief Jim Hopper who metamorphoses from the weary cop to vigilant father from another angle of the story. The chemistry between the young actors and the more experienced cast members helps in the making of the show and makes it much better.
Personal Review
As a viewer of the show I have come to like how ‘Stranger Things’ incorporates storytelling as well as nostalgia into the show. One of the best things about the series is how it respects the essence of the decade depicted in it – the soundtrack, for instance, or the number of nods to 80s pop culture – but at the same time, it offers the viewers a brand new story. The intriguing storyline does not let the viewer relax, while profound character portrayals take care of the viewer’s feelings. I especially liked that the genres are divided quite randomly: science-fiction, horror, drama, – so it is not boring to watch and I look forward to each new season.
Conclusion
It is a must binge-watching series especially for those who love supernatural thriller series and adventure series with some amalgam of the 80’s vibes involved. Starring great actors, informed by an excellent plot and filled with iconic heroes, it is understandable that today the series has many fans and admirers.
