The property design was a product of a collaboration between Ayatana studios & landscape architect and biologist, Mr. Paul Blanchflower. Paul studied the property and helped determine “safe spots” for putting up structures. He also helped in navigating pathways through the site, which in turn helped in deciding the positions of the various structures on site. The decision to retain as much as possible of the existing landscape including the waterfall, led to the use of prefabricated steel construction for the structures. This minimized the onsite work and its subsequent impact on the natural landscape. As you enter the property, you are welcomed at the open-plan lobby, which overlooks the incredible view of all the cottages in the lush. Resting on a higher contour of the site, the reception is an expansive, floating platform with panoramic views of the rest of the resort and the waterfall at a distance. The minimal design of the reception, trying to behave as an “entrance canopy”, has quite an overwhelming experience on the guests, as it gives them an opportunity to take in the rest of the property all at once. The Cottages and Suites are designed keeping in mind utmost comfort. They feel more like treehouses than traditional cottages, but are luxurious, with Warm teak furniture. A stay in one of these Luxury Cottages is guaranteed to be one of the most loved features of the resort, as it allows one to immerse themselves in the existing wilderness and enjoy nature in all its glory, come rain or shine.
