BEADS Profile: BEADS is a team of designers, artists, ceramists and art enthusiasts mentored by eminent artist, sculptor, and painter Jagannath Panda. Stonework, silver filigree, woodcraft, appliqué work, brass and bell metal work, dhokra castings, horn work, patta paintings, paper-mâché, terracotta – the list goes on. Every district in Odisha has a specialist craft practice and a different take on another one!   Founded in 2022 and mentored under the guidance of Jagannath Panda. BEADS is an experimental means of empowering tradition via regional artists. In order to encourage local talent, all artists affiliated with the studio are entitled to a royalty on total sales. The studio also takes pride in being an eco-conscious business, utilizing packaging that is 100% recyclable. The studio’s commitment to preserving and revitalizing Odisha’s art heritage still remains at the forefront of its endeavors     Jagannath Panda – Design Mentor at B.E.A.D.S A maestro in the sphere of sculptural art, Jagannath Panda is a prolific artist and art-curator based in Delhi, India. His ingenious contribution in the field of ceramics and sculptures has solidified his position as an industry veteran. Mr. Panda’s works have been showcased in solo and group exhibitions, airports, as well as art fairs, in various cities around the world, including Tokyo, London, Berlin, San Francisco, New Delhi, Mumbai, Miami, Hong Kong, Dubai, Seoul, Vienna, and Paris.    In 2011, Mr. Panda established the Utsha Foundation for Contemporary Art in Bhubaneswar to promote and nurture Indian culture. Additionally, he has been actively involved in multiple community art projects in Bhubaneswar including “Art and Ecology: Search for Sustainability”, Barbil Art Projects, and the BAT. Mr. Panda’s contributions have earned recognition and appreciation on both national and international platforms .He has been honored with prestigious accolades, including the National Academy Award from Lalit Kala Academy, the All-India Fine Arts and Crafts Society Award, the Alice Boner Memorial Award, The Japan Foundation Fellowship, Inlaks Scholarship, and the esteemed London’s C.I.I.C. Centre Prize.  Founder’s Profile Sandeep Hota, an Odisha-born engineer and management consultant, has spent 14 years abroad honing his skills and knowledge. After completing his Bachelor’s in Engineering in Bhubaneswar, he pursued an MBA at Smith School of Business, Queen’s University, Canada. Passionate about the visual arts, Sandeep found inspiration volunteering at Utsha, where he collaborated with renowned artist Jagannath Panda. Under the guidance of Jagannath Panda, Sandeep co-founded BEADS with Siddhartha Mohanty and Jay Mishra in order to highlight Odisha’s rich cultural heritage. BEADS is a premium lifestyle brand that celebrates the state’s diverse craft traditions, aiming to tell its captivating stories through innovative design. BEADS specializes in creating bespoke handcrafted ceramic tableware. Beyond ceramic art, BEADS is also venturing into experimental crafts that include brass, paper machie mask, sabai grass, and more. In response, our packaging design prioritizes eco-friendly materials, promoting reuse and upcycling. Our products are carefully encased in jute bags and honeycomb paper, with plastic-free labels further reinforcing our commitment to sustainability.
