Zara X Jayesh Sachdev Collaboration Reverie

Zara X Jayesh Sachdev Collaboration Reverie

“REVERIE” IS MORE THAN AN ARTWORK; IT IS AN EXPERIENCE  To celebrate the joyful spirit of Diwali, Zara joins forces with the renowned multidisciplinary local artist Jayesh  Sachdev to launch a limited-edition capsule collection titled ‘Reverie.’ It will be launched in India on 15 October 2024 across womenswear, menswear, kidswear, and accessories in  selected stores and on Zara.com.  The project aims to create a sense of wonder and magic that is accessible to all, regardless of their background.  The ‘pièce de résistance’ of this collaboration is a 10-foot sculpture of a tiger displayed at our flagship store at  Phoenix Palladium, Mumbai as well a special corners in our stores in New Deli, Bangalore, Pune and Gurgaon.  The tiger, as a guardian of this festive dreamscape, symbolizing power, protection, and wild beauty, reminds us of  the enduring strength of light and the spirited essence of Diwali. This mystical animal is the motive that weaves through the different pieces that are part of this unique collaboration, full of bold, graphic lines enhancing the playful nature and inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the celebratory spirit.    The composition is a dynamic mix of shapes—spheres, triangles, and polygons—arranged to evoke the joyous  energy of the festival. Each element captures the exuberance and essence of Diwali through a whimsical fusion of  geometric shapes and graphic elements like the glow of oil lamps, the sparkle of fireworks, and the beauty of  decorative lanterns. Bright hues of gold, crimson, and emerald reflect the festive ambiance, imbuing the artwork  with warmth and celebration. Bold, graphic lines enhance the playful nature of the piece, inviting viewers to immerse  themselves in the festive spirit.  “Reverie” is more than an artwork; it is an experience, transporting viewers to a world where light triumphs over  darkness and joy fills the air. It further highlights that through frantic and surrealist expression, and only through  chaos, arises the inevitability of a new synthesis. Jayesh’s fearless use of bright colours and intricate details attest to  his artistic depth and draws us in, inviting us to explore the deeper meaning behind this collaboration.  Another reflection of this collaboration is a capsule collection of t-shirts and sweatshirts for women, men and  kids. Meanwhile, the accessory collaboration extends to a tote bag and candle with its patchouli fragrance.  ABOUT JAYESH SACHDEV  Jayesh Sachdev is a multi-hyphenated creator—artist, sculptor, designer, and creative entrepreneur. Quest- Antariksh’s video single, ft. Guitar legend Marty Friedman

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] Quest, Antariksh’s first release of 2021 and features one of the most iconic guitar players of the world, Marty Friedman (also well known for his association with the Heavy Metal Giants Megadeth). Quest is a dark, heavy and intricate song incorporating Carnatic music inspired guitar riffs and breakdowns. It is a Hindustani sitar solo and a guitar solo section by guitar virtuoso Marty Friedman. The US born, Japan based artist is one of the most influential guitar players of all time. This collaboration between the two artists happened to post the famed guitarist’s performance at Bacardi NH7 Weekender in Shillong, Meghalaya in 2019. Rajput describes the experience: “It was completely unreal, but as we can clearly see unreal things do happen. I think it was a combination of a stroke of luck and a bit of persistence. I remember learning guitar watching Marty’s ‘Melodic Control’ Guitar instructional DVD almost 15 years ago and how strong an effect it had on me and my guitar playing approach. Until the day I saw him at the festival, I hadn’t ever imagined a situation like this even wildly in my dreams. But then again, as I said, crazy things do happen.” Talking about the collaboration the guitar great Marty Friedman says, “Something about Varun (Rajput) gave me the idea that he was the real deal… and once I heard the song, I was in. The song was really well thought out and I could feel that Varun and his band put a lot of energy and care into the details.” Quest breaks the illusion of ‘me and mine’ that lives within oneself and gets attached to. The song has introspective lyrics (Hindi & English), questioning the true cause of our existence as humans, and how our ego, lust for money, power and greed make us feel separate from the world outside, while the world we see is not reality but a projection onto our consciousness. The January 2021 audio launch was followed by a thought-provoking animated video of Quest in March (12th) 2021. Almost 5 months in the making, the animated video, which was a long-standing dream of Rajput and was brought to life in collaboration with a Bangalore-based visual artist Pratik Dey.
