Valentino Fall 2019 Couture Collection – Take A Sneak Peek

Bright sunny yellow colours and floor-length gown to cobalt blue dress made out of a lustrous taffeta, yes, we are talking about the final show of Fall 2019 Haute Couture Week, Pierpaolo Piccioli’s exaggerated proportions and out-of-this-world craftsmanship for Valentino. The collection was filled with dreamy dresses and botanic gardens like sunflower and poppy prints. Piccioli said in a studio preview, “The only way to make couture alive today is to embrace different women’s identities and cultures.” “It’s about the idea of individualism,” Piccioli continued. The show included all the expert craftsmen behind the 70+ piece range including sensational and glorious colours and combinations including the citron green and prune of a trapeze top and culottes. The jaw-dropping long dress with floral prints and the sleeveless gown showed the individuality of Piccioli. As Piccioli stated, “It’s not engineered by computer, you can feel the humanity in it,” the composition of multiple sequins, feathers, textural embroideries to extravagant trains, exuberant ruffles, and voluminous, balloon-like silhouettes were indeed a feast for the eyes.
