Top International Travel Trends For 2024

With the world opening up again and extremely high resilience in travel, 2024 is set to be a year of transforming trends in international travel. From sustainability to immersive experiences, here are the best-trending travel categories with a few ideas on where to experience them. Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Travel Something that will considerably make eco-travel options rise in 2024 is the need of the hour. Travelers are rising in search of those places where vacations and activities concentrate on the care of the environment and community development. Best Place to Visit: Costa Rica: Considered as an epitome of environmental preservation, the very word ‘Costa Rica’ evokes images of lush, thick rainforests—a repository of fauna—complemented by a large number of ecolodges. Its stellar commitment to sustainable tourism makes it the dream destination of every eco-conscious traveler. Experiencing the Culture Slowly, tourists are moving out of the regular ‘been there, done that’ places and nations, already teeming with tourists, for the passion of getting deeper into cultural hotspots. It is all about going beyond the skin level, a feel of the local communities, traditions, and customs. Best Place to Visit: Peru: More than just the teeming and tiring trail to Machu Picchu, local markets, ancient customs, and cultural festivals come to life. Communities like Quechua and exploring the Sacred Valley offer substance to Peruvian culture. Wellness and Health Retreats Well-being and relaxation are the new big travel motivators. Consequently, wellness retreats, health-orientated holidays, and rejuvenating stays were becoming fast mantras for travelers who wanted to unwire from the stressors of life and rejuvenate their bodies and minds alike. Best Place to Visit: Bali, Indonesia: Bracketed between serene landscapes and holistic approaches toward health, Bali retreats focus on yoga, meditation, and spas. There are a lot of takers for wellness tourism in Ubud. Tech-Enhanced Travel Technology is making the whole ordeal of travel seamless, secure, and, more importantly, personalized. Be it trip planning powered by AI or a sophisticated mobile app, technology has many applications in present travel. Best Place to Visit: Singapore: The city-state is brilliant when one speaks about technology; thus, this is the perfect destination to have a hassle-free holiday with the aid of smart infrastructure, digital guides, and state-of-the-art facilities. With an efficient transport system and unique attractions, this city will prove why it’s a haven of travel for tech. Slow Travel and Long-Term Vacationing Before it was the fast traveling mentality, but with slow travel, people will be in fewer locations for much longer to appreciate and take in the culture and surroundings around them. Best Place to Visit: Italy: Italy, with its wonderfully quaint cities and quintessential countryside, is a perfect match for slow travel. Places like Tuscany and Amalfi can afford a deep dive into local cultures, cuisine, and landscapes. Adventure and Exploration Today, the concept of adventure travel is expanding its array of activities into forms of extreme sports or any kind of exploratory expedition that one can think of; 2024 is going to be full of many more diversified and challenging adventures. Best Place to Visit: Nepal: With the Himalayas in the backdrop, Nepal is a paradise for anyone looking to trek and mountain climb. The Everest Base Camp Trek and Annapurna Circuit are both challenging and stunning walks in their own right. Luxury and Experiential Travel High-end travel is coming out of its opulence mantle to encompass the realms of uniqueness and exclusivity of experiences. Luxury travelers are seeking exclusivity of experience beyond the conventional aspect of luxury. Best Place to visit: Dubai, UAE: The emirate city is excess par excellence, defining the limits within which holiday-making can be said to take place on an upward scale. From personally chartered yachts down to exclusive desert safaris, Dubai offers unrivaled opulence with truly unique experiences. Conclusion: As 2024 inches closer, these are the travel trends that are suggestive of a new, growing yearning of travelers towards experiences that will be more significant, more sustainable, and more romantic. Be it something that resonates with eco-friendliness, rich in cultures, or high-tech convenience, destinations that one can travel to are plenty, embracing every kind of traveler. Embrace these trends and find some of the best places that match your travel aspirations for an unforgettable journey.

7 Best Places In Italy To Have Lasagna

A culinary masterpiece of layered pasta, meat sauce, and cheese, lasagna has captured the hearts and taste buds of many food enthusiasts worldwide. It is in Italy, however, that this delightful creation has its origins. All regions show their variation: some rich and full, like the Bolognese version of lasagna, others light with vegetables. Join us on this culinary journey to discover the best places in Italy where this iconic dish is best indulged. Bologna: The Lasagna Mecca Well known as the homeland of lasagna, Bologna should be added to the bucket list of any pasta lover. Here, you will taste a symphony of lasagna Bolognese with a rich ragù alla Bolognese and creamy bechamel oozing over perfectly cooked sheets of pasta. Must-try: Classic Lasagna Bolognese Ingredients: ragù di carne, béchamel, Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, fresh pasta sheets Where to go: Trattoria dal Dosso: a family business that proposes the traditional and true taste of lasagna. Osteria del Sole: warm atmosphere and yummy homemade pasta. Naples: A Southern Delight The lighter, fresher lasagna can be found in Naples, a city full of life in southern Italy. Neapolitan lasagna is characterized by ricotta cheese and mozzarella, with a less rich tomato sauce since the region tends to follow the freshness of ingredients. Must-try: Lasagna with ricotta and mozzarella Key ingredients: Ricotta cheese, mozzarella, tomato sauce, pasta sheets Where to go: Pizzeria Di Matteo: As expected from this very famous pizzeria, it seems they really know how to prepare the hidden treasure for the lasagna. L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele: Yet another great pizza institution done right, with a deliciously done lasagna to go along with their famous pies. Toscana: Rustic Elegance Tuscan lasagna is such that may be called a harmonious combination of tradition and innovation: the classic meat-based versions and vegetarian options, loaded with seasonal vegetables and creamy ricotta. Besides, top-notch ingredients paired with rustic cooking techniques make this dish truly special. Must-try: Lasagna with spinach and ricotta or a meaty ragu version Ingredients: Spinach, ricotta, optional ragù of meat, béchamel, Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, pasta sheets Where to go: Osteria del Chianti: Is a nice restaurant where you can eat a great Tuscan dinner. Trattoria Mario: This is a classic and popular place for wholesome authentic Tuscan food. Sicily: a Mediterranean Variance This is what Lasagna Siciliana is, full-flavored—a real Med mash-up. Think about eggplant, pine nuts, and raisins, with just a hint of sweetness in the sauce. Add this all up, and you’ve got a complex yet satisfying dish, very representative of that immense wealth of culinary heritage on the island. Must-try: Lasagna with eggplant and ricotta salata Key ingredients: Eggplant, pine nuts, raisins, ricotta salata, tomato sauce, pasta sheets Where to go: Osteria dei Santi: The modern reinterpretation of the traditional Sicilian cuisine. Antica Focacceria San Francesco: The historical restaurant is well-known for street food. Now, here great lasagna is served. Rome: A City of Surprises While overshadowed by the pasta, a Roman lasagna is a tasty and hearty course. Simplicity defines it: fine ingredients and perfect execution. Pecorino Romano gives a salty, tangy flavor to this number. Must-try: Classic Roman lasagna with pecorino Romano Key ingredients: Pecorino Romano cheese, meat ragù (optional), béchamel, pasta sheets Where to go: Osteria della Pace: The small restaurant with a taste of the real Roma. Taverna Trilussa: You should definitely not pass by. It’s noise and great food with its star dish—lasagna. Liguria: A Delicacy on the Seashore Ligurian lasagna is lighter, with an influence from the sea. Fresh herbs, anchovies, and sometimes lemon zest add to the sauce. This combination gives a perfect balance of flavors from both land and sea. Must-try: Lasagna with pesto and seafood Key ingredients: Pesto, seafood—mussels, clams—béchamel, pasta sheets Where to go: Trattoria da Maria: This is a very small place, though full of authentic Ligurian cuisine. A Pesta Zun: Fresh seafood and excellent pasta dishes. Piedmont: Rich and Hearty Lasagna really represents a concentration of rich flavors, which, in the case of the Piedmontese, is made by using local cheese varieties like Fontina and Taleggio in company with a hearty meat ragu, altogether making this a totally indulgent dish. The addition of porcini mushrooms is commonly a pleasure added. Must-try: Lasagna with Fontina, Taleggio, and porcini mushrooms Ingredients: fontina cheese, taleggio, porcini mushrooms, ragù di carne, béchamel, fresh pasta sheets Where to go: Trattoria del Piemonte: a classic restaurant where to taste traditional Piedmontese food; Osteria dell’Arco: warm atmosphere and yummy homemade pasta. Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s Multi-Day Pre-Wedding Mediterranean Cruise

Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s Multi-Day Pre-Wedding Mediterranean Cruise

A Celebration Steeped in Tradition and Modernity Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant have their wedding in July, and it is a much-anticipated event, preceded by a whirlwind of celebratory events. Following their grand hastakshar ceremony, a traditional Hindu pre-wedding ritual, held in March at the Ambani residence in Jamnagar, Gujarat, the couple embarked on a luxurious four-day Mediterranean cruise in May. This extravagant event served as a unique way to celebrate their upcoming nuptials with a diverse group of 1,200 guests. A Tapestry of Relationships: A Guest List Reflecting Decades of Connection The extensive guest list for the cruise went beyond close family and friends. It encompassed employees from Reliance Industries, the Ambani family’s business empire, a testament to Anant’s commitment to his professional network. Encore Healthcare, the Merchant family business, was also well-represented, reflecting the importance of Radhika’s family background. Even Anant’s animal sanctuary, Vantara, found a place in the guest list, highlighting the couple’s shared passion for animal welfare. The inclusivity extended further, with the couple inviting their doctors, creating a guest list that spanned not just social circles but also generations, ranging from playful six-month-olds to experienced individuals in their nineties. Europe was a natural choice for the location, allowing friends and family residing overseas, particularly Radhika’s family and American college friends who couldn’t attend the hastakshar in India, to participate in the festivities. Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Style: A Journey Curated with Unforgettable Experiences Palermo, Sicily, served as the embarkation point for the cruise, kicking off with a welcoming lunch that set the tone for the celebratory voyage. As the ship glided along the picturesque Italian coast, the festivities kicked off with a dazzling “starry-night”-themed formal party. Anant wrote Radhika a love letter on her 22nd birthday, and she made a stunning entrance in a Robert Wun gown. This sentimental touch added a personal layer to the celebration, showcasing the depth of their connection. The night took an unexpected turn when the Backstreet Boys surprised the guests with a live performance. The iconic boy band’s energetic set sent shivers down the spines of many, particularly those who grew up listening to their music, creating a wave of nostalgia that washed over the guests. After exploring the historical city of Rome the following day, the revelry returned to the ship with a lively toga party. The décor paid homage to the couple’s college years, featuring banners from their respective universities, NYU and Brown. This playful theme provided a lighthearted atmosphere, allowing guests to reminisce about their own college experiences. A Fusion of Tradition and Innovation: Fashion Statements on the High Seas Radhika’s outfit for the toga party was a custom-designed creation by emerging New York designer Grace Ling, a graduate of Parsons School of Design, similar to Radhika’s time at NYU. This unique “toga” incorporated a 3D-printed, aerospace aluminium breastplate replicating drapery. It served as a symbol of the couple’s embrace of modern fashion while remaining grounded in tradition. This innovative technique showcased Grace Ling’s talent and her ability to push the boundaries of fashion design. Nita Ambani, Anant’s mother, also made a dazzling statement in a Schiaparelli design, exemplifying the focus on elegance throughout the cruise. French Riviera Revelry: A Masquerade Ball Fit for Royalty The cruise docked in Cannes on the third day, where a grand masquerade ball awaited the guests at the historic Château de la Croix des Gardes, a location forever immortalised in Alfred Hitchcock’s “To Catch a Thief.” The venue itself exuded an air of sophistication, transporting guests to a bygone era of glamour. The Isle of You, the meticulous event planner, ensured every detail was flawless, creating an atmosphere of timeless elegance. Radhika opted for a custom-made Versace gown in shades of blue, reminiscent of the Côte d’Azur’s vibrant waters. This masterpiece, a collaboration between Radhika and her stylist, Shaleena Nathani, took a year to complete, showcasing the meticulous planning that went into every aspect of the cruise. The bride-to-be completed her look with a stunning opal and diamond necklace by Lorraine Schwartz, a symbolic piece with her birthstone and Anant’s. A bridal fascinator served as her mask, while Anant complemented her elegance in a custom Dolce & Gabbana ensemble. The evening reached its peak with a captivating performance by Katy Perry. Her energetic performance had the masked crowd dancing and singing along. The night culminated in a breathtaking fireworks display that illuminated the night sky above the chateau, leaving guests breathless. The party continued aboard the ship with a high-energy concert by Pitbull. The renowned rapper’s pulsating beats kept the dance floor packed until the early hours, ensuring the night remained etched in everyone’s memory. Portofino’s Enchanting Finale: A Night Under the Stars Steeped in Romance The final leg of the cruise saw the Ambanis transform the main square of Portofino into a vibrant open-air marketplace. The renowned event planner Vincenzo Dascanio orchestrated the event design and florals, incorporating vibrant tomatoes and classic Vespas, the iconic Italian scooters, to capture the essence of la dolce vita, the Italian “sweet life.” The atmosphere buzzed with energy, filled with laughter, conversation, and the aroma of delicious food from the market stalls. For this occasion, Radhika donned a rare piece of fashion history—an archival Yves Saint Laurent for Dior dress sourced by stylist Mimi Cuttrell. The dress’s seemingly simple design belied its intricate construction, showcasing the timeless elegance of a bygone era. The dress represented Radhika’s appreciation for fashion history and her desire to incorporate a touch of vintage glamour into the celebration. As the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink, the legendary Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli took centre stage. His powerful voice filled the piazza, sending shivers down spines and bringing tears to eyes. The open-air setting added a touch of intimacy to the performance, making it a truly unforgettable experience. His performance featured iconic love songs like “Can’t Help Falling in Love” and a hauntingly beautiful rendition of “I Found

Fat Cat Pizza

Fat Cat Pizza, A pizza made for Bangalore, borrowing from the food and flavors we all grew up with. The pizzas make sure for all to keep coming back for more! The Fat Cat was born with Misha and Sean during the lockdown last year with a friend Sukesh Ananth, who studied pizza in Italy and decided that pizza might be a good start. The founder Sean states, “I started my Career, quite by accident as a DJ when I was 18 and DJ’ed on the professional circuit across the country for 12 years. At a point it wasn’t challenging enough so I decided to get into business and founded 2 DJ schools like the ILM academy & Themusics’cool. Drawing on what I learned from my career as a DJ I diversified into events & sound Installations for Bars, Restaurants and Clubs starting a company called Sean de Souza incorporated which I still run today, but my heart was not it, so about 3 years ago with I started experimenting with food and learning how to cook. In Early 2020 I gave the school to my partner and decided to spend more time pursuing food which wouldn’t have happened with the support of my Wife Samantha Barua. For six months they experimented with various pizzas on family and friends. Misha Pamnany insisted that it could become a viable business. Incidentally she is a food consultant and is the backbone of this business. Thus, Fat Cat was born with Misha and Sean. Pizza is about 3 things, which is Dough, Pizza Sauce and locally sourced topping. They found a lot of companies that were doing Neapolitan pizza, that’s great for someone who has travelled and has experienced a Neapolitan pizza and knows what that tastes like. But what about the person who has never had or never will have that experience? The flavour of a pizza has to be local, that is what defines it. Sean has studied the classic recipes and tweaked some of it so it works for the Indian palette and changed certain things completely so they can pack in a lot of flavour that we are accustomed to and love. They took a chance during the lockdown, which has been a great hit, and they are soon to launch on dotpe and swiggy. They are available right now through for delivery on, dunzo and swiggy genie. Fat Cat Pizza, wants everyone to taste their pizzas and the ones who like it to keep coming back for more!
